Documentary stories about food, diaspora and belonging.
I’m Kate, a Berlin-based food and culture storyteller working across short-form video, writing and audio. I use restaurants, home kitchens and national dishes as doorways into migration, memory and the question of what makes somewhere feel like home.Skip The Tourist Menu

Why Global Sybarite?
Technically, a sybarite is someone devoted to luxury and pleasure. I’ve taken the word anyway because I think luxury can also mean attention: a long table, a dish someone misses from home, or enough time to ask who made the food and why it matters.
I’ve lived in Dallas, Moscow, Hurghada, Paris and Berlin, and I’m still working out what home means. Global Sybarite is where I explore that question through food - with the people who live these stories, not by speaking for them.
Anyway - there’s a seat.
The longer versions live on Substack. Essays on food, belonging and the things a minute-long Reel can't hold.
